Seeing Beyond Hard Truths

The story of Ruth is a story that begins with suffering. Ruth goes with her mother-in-law Naomi to Bethlehem, but the are both widows and hoping to be “redeemed” by a near relative. Boaz, a near relative, has taken notice of Ruth, but the next step in this love relationship will be through something we don’t always see as “loving” in our culture today.
